The desire for security. The anxiety that a hidden, overlooked danger might be lurking. The hope of gaining complete control. The utopia of creating the perfect building. For me, the solo is both a symbol of my own personal entanglements in the labyrinth of contingencies, but also a metaphor for a mood I perceive in our society, especially in the West. The work mania, the zeal, the precision and mania to create the perfect home to protect it against possible enemies. All energy flows into the perfection of control, the planning of surveillance strategies and the erection of borders out of fear of possible enemies, so that in the madness of building and controlling, relations are increasingly lost. Here, Kafka's text served as inspiration for my character and selected passages result in a sound collage.
"If only I had someone I could trust… It's relatively easy to trust someone when you're watching them at the same time… But I can only trust myself and my burrow".
– Franz Kafka
